Charming Stay with Excellent Beer Selection
After a day of hill walking, we enjoyed a cozy evening here. The atmosphere was warm, and I particularly loved the locally brewed beers. While the gluten-free options could improve, my gammon was delightful. Be sure to try the chips—they're a great accompaniment!

I had a lovely stay with my bike parked securely right outside my room, which made things super easy for me. The beer garden was perfect for relaxing in the sun, and I really enjoyed the cozy, traditional atmosphere inside as well. The room did take a bit to warm up, but overall, it was a delightful experience. I’d recommend trying the local beer! 🍻

this place has such character, right in the heart of coniston! the staff were super welcoming and parking for my motorcycle was a big plus. the breakfast was also excellent. loved that it's attached to a microbrewery with loads of cool ales to try!
the room i stayed in was a bit dated and could've been cleaner. The fire alarm going off at 3:30 am was a bit unorganised.

The Black Bull's inviting decor, with exposed stone walls and oak beams, felt charming and cozy. The accessibility made it easy for seniors like me to navigate through the warm atmosphere and enjoy the delightful local ales.
More seating options for seniors would be appreciated.

It was just a prime choice for a weekend outing in Coniston with good value for money. Food was pretty overpriced but my gammon was cooked well, just a bit greasy. If you can, ask for a room away from the street for a quieter night.

Traditional English pub atmosphere, local ales brewed on-site, cozy central location.
The room felt sweltering without proper ventilation and the shower setup was cumbersome!!! An update in payment processing technology is overdue, given the inconvenience caused by the card system failure.

Perfect Spot for Beer Lovers!
Had a blast at the pub! Staff were super friendly and quick with drinks. Tried the local Coniston Beer, and it was awesome! Bar area was busy, but we got served fast. The only thing? The decor is a bit old-school, but it gives it charm. Loved the cozy atmosphere and dog-friendly vibe.

Tucked in the heart of Coniston, the Black Bull is a charm-filled spot that serves breakfast that’s pure delight! The staff are lovely, and I must say, the local ales brewed right behind the bar are a real treat. My room was warm and cozy, making the stay even better.
The only downside was the cleanliness of my room—not great, and a bit off-putting. Cushions were in a right state, and the floor needed a good scrub. Still, everything else shone bright in Coniston.
